I’ve always felt stories in my bones.
Long before I became an editor, I was the kind of reader who lived inside a book—feeling every emotional shift, every moment of resonance, every quiet heartbreak. Stories weren’t just entertainment; they were experiences. So, it’s no surprise that when I started editing, I instinctively approached manuscripts the same way.
Of course, I knew the importance of structure, pacing, and narrative clarity. I learned how to spot plot holes and untangle messy timelines. But what mattered most to me—what I found myself listening for—was how a story felt.
Over time, I realized something simple but powerful: a technically flawless manuscript isn’t enough. A great story needs emotional truth. It needs voice, connection, heart.
So I began to shape my editing practice around that philosophy. Yes, I’ll help you strengthen your structure and sharpen your scenes, but I’ll also show you where your story sings, where your characters come alive, and where your reader might just feel what you intended all along.
That’s what I mean when I say “where structure meets the heart of your story.” It’s not a formula, it’s a partnership. One that honors both the craft of writing and the soul behind it.
I hold a B.A. in English and Creative Writing, an MFA in Fiction Writing, and I’ve spent the better part of two decades immersed in stories—as a writer, a reader, and an editor. I’m the founder of Fiction Flock, once a monthly book box company, but soon to be a reading destination, with book reviews, recommendations, and tools for authors to engage with their readers in a fun, interactive way.
Before stepping fully into the literary world, I worked in administrative support across a variety of industries—from sales to government contracting—and even served a short stint in the Army. Every path I’ve taken has shaped how I show up in my work: with precision, curiosity, and a deep respect for the humans behind the words.
I live in Texas (for now) and am the proud mama of three fully-grown human beings and two grumpy but lovable furbabies. When I’m not editing or building Fiction Flock, you can usually find me daydreaming about heading back to either coast with a book in my hand, a greenhouse in my backyard, and a regular view of the ocean.
Writers don’t need red pens—they need readers who see them. That’s why my editing style is rooted in four key principles:
Provide honest, constructive feedback that encourages growth and nurtures the heart and soul of a storyteller.
Offer clear and grounded feedback so writers can understand the purpose behind each suggestion.
Identify and amplify what’s already working and draw out the emotional core of a story to fully engage readers.
Share tools, resources, and examples to help deepen a writer’s understanding of their voice and the craft.
In addition to the technical and structural support every good editor can provide, I bring a genuine enthusiasm for your vision and a commitment to helping you achieve it. Whether you’re wrestling with a first draft, refining a complex character arc, or seeking to deepen the emotional impact of your scenes, I’m here to:
Whether you’re dreaming up your debut or knee-deep in revisions, I’m here to support your journey.
If you’re looking for a thoughtful, heart-centered collaboration—one that honors your voice and brings your vision to life—I’d be honored to walk alongside you. Tell me about your story and your goals, and let’s talk about how I can help you tell the story you want to tell.
I truly can’t wait to hear what you’re writing.
